A holistic approach is indispensible in modern Sports Medicine. The Medical Park Berlin Humboldtmühle Clinic represents an interdisciplinary concept consisting of the disciplines of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics, Sports Science, Nutritional Science and Rehabilitation. As a result of the foundation professorship our clinic is an integral component of the internationally unique 'Centrum für Sportmedizin und Sportwissenschaft Berlin' (Centre for Sports Medicine and Sports Science Berlin), abbreviated to CSSB.
This centre of expertise consolidates the synergies of the two scientific disciplines under one roof and is a joint project of the Humboldt University of Berlin and the Charité University Medical Centre Berlin. Findings in the field of sports science such as from investigations on training analysis or in sports psychology can therefore be directly implemented. This allows an efficient way of working to be made possible for the first time, particularly in the areas of performance optimisation and prevention. Top athletes, recreational athletes and those who do sport for health reasons directly benefit from the targeted findings.

Each sports-medical examination begins with an orthopaedic and internal check-up. This includes 4D spinal analysis, a specific assessment of muscular function (isokinetics) in addition to an ECG, a stress ECG, a pulmonary function test and an echocardiography. After the initial examination, the precise endurance performance is assessed with the aid of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The tests are conducted on a high performance ergometer or large treadmills and include lactate analysis and spirometry. The data then provides the basis for long-term targeted training plans, optimised by an appropriate diet.

The Medical Park Berlin Humboldtmühle Clinic offers athletes a targeted and responsible rehabilitation training programme after injury with the least possible loss of form. The close cooperation between Sports Medicine, Sports Science and therapy guarantees holistic care.
