Social counselling service
Illnesses and accidents often bring on momentous changes in the personal life of an individual. They trigger problems which could threaten the material existence or bring into question the personal and professional future of the patient, often resulting in feelings of fear and insecurity. The social counsellors of Medical Park Bad Wiessee St. Hubertus help patients and their relatives in these situations.
Our social counsellors have been trained to support patients in social, financial and legal questions, the return to the workplace or entitlement to a pension. They often do this in close cooperation with the social care units of the hospital that a patient was first committed to, in order to continue measures that may have already been initiated. It is an important goal of ours to facilitate the care provision in the patient’s own home.
Because of this. our patients are advised comprehensively about possible technical aids that may assist them. Where necessary, our counsellors will also contact the patients’ local outpatient services and inform them about self-help groups.

Home and work situation
Some of the central questions that social counsellors deal with are:What personnel or technical assistance does the patient require in order to return home? Does the home need to be modified? Are there any subsidies available? Is a care home required? Do technical aids need to be prescribed and adapted?
Is the patient able to return to work? Are there any changes or modifications that need to be made at the workplace? Is retraining required? Does the patient need to partially or fully retire from work? What is the new legal situation?
Does the patient have any new status or rights according to disability legislation? Does the patient need to be referred to other social services?
Has the patient and relatives been informed about self-help groups? How will the patient be looked after by the social service after leaving the clinic?
We attempt to clarify all of these questions in the best interest of the patient.
