Psychology/Psychotherapy
A basic precondition for human beings to recover from ill health is, besides good medical provisions, also a feeling of spiritual and emotional well-being.
A vital precondition for all patients’ recovery is, alongside optimal medical care, their emotional well-being. In order to best assist patients in their healing process the clinic’s department of psychology offers patients the chance to talk about their current life issues, either in a one-on-one or a group context.
One-on-one conversations give us the chance to communicate strategies for coping with the psychological effects of ill health, fear and stress, as well as to discuss any other topic concerning human interaction if needs be. This is often a good way to develop new, solution-orientated, patterns of behaviour. The intensity of this therapy is wholly based on the needs of the patient, his or her motivation and the degree of disorder or imbalance. We offer one-on-one conversations with a psychotherapist, or a variety of group sessions.
Autogenic training Here patients are taught how to relax with auto-suggestive strategies. Autogenic training is a psychosomatic process which aims to reunite body and soul, thereby leading to positive changes.
Pain management group Patients attending the pain management group learn about how pain develops, how pain is perceived and the psychological aspects which influence pain management, such as moods and pain recognition, in order to be able to influence pain in a positive way.
Sleep counselling Here, patients are given information regarding sleep patterns and the processes which occur during sleep. Numerous reasons for sleeping problems are made clear so that individual methods of finding a solution can be defined.
