In the department of Internal Medicine with the focus on cardiology, stationary rehabilitation aftercare treatments and rehabilitation are carried out. The range of treatments covers all aspects of internal medicine, but focuses on patients with disorders of the cardiovascular system. Amongst other disorders these include:
- Coronary heart disease
- Valvular heart diseases
- Myocardial weakness (cardiac insufficiency)
- Cardiac rhythm disturbances
- High blood pressure
- Metabolic disorders (e.g. diabetes mellitus)
- Vascular diseases
- Pulmonary diseases
There is a particular interest in the treatment of metabolic factors and other disorders which encourage the onset of cardiovascular diseases. These include increased blood sugar (diabetes), high blood pressure, excess weight, nicotine consumption and thyroid gland disorders.
