Haus Campe
The origins of the former storage warehouse of the Humboldt mill that is protected as a historic monument, the present-day Haus Campe, date back to the 13th century. The Haus Campe consists of two parts: located in the former warehouse is the Department of Internal Medicine / Cardiology directed by Professor Dr Heinz Theres. Some patients' rooms of the Department of Orthopaedics are also housed in the Haus Campe. The modern glass construction is predominantly intended for patients' rehabilitative aftercare. In the Haus Campe there are 96 lovingly furnished single rooms in total, in which the highest level of medical and nursing care is guaranteed. The Brentano Lounge on the ground floor of the Haus Campe is available to all patients. Dieticians look after patients in the diet kitchen in the basement.

Johann Heinrich Campe
Johann Heinrich Campe played an immensely important role in the life of the brothers Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt. He was the publisher, author, educator and tutor for both brothers. In his lessons in the nearby Tegel Palace he focused the sights of the Humboldt brothers on the expanse of the world using geographical decks of cards designed himself. With the follow-up to the already famous novel ‘Robinson Crusoe’ and his work covering more than a thousand pages ‘Die Entdeckung Amerikas’ (The Discovery of America), Johann Heinrich Campe inspired fantasy in his charges and encouraged the spirit of research in each of them that made them so famous later on.
