Clinic Patron Medical Park Bad Rodach
Wrestling World Champion
Alexander Leipold
There is much that links Alexander Leipold with Medical Park Bad Rodach. Since his rehabilitation in 2003, we have remained in regular contact with the likeable world-class athlete. These days, Alexander Leipold still likes to return to Bad Rodach in order to use the clinic's professional facilities and expert care for his own training.
Alexander Leipold: "As a fully trained athlete, the three strokes caused by a virus came as a total surprise. I was paralysed on one side and unable to speak – I was depressed and in despair. But I never stopped fighting. I was lucky to find the best possible conditions at Medical Park Bad Rodach for my rehabilitation to restore my ‘fitness for life’. In a fabulous setting, I was treated and cared for by friendly and competent members of staff. One year after my rehabilitation, I became Masters World Champion (Editor's note: minimum age 35 years). Nowadays, I coach the national team and act as ambassador for the German Stroke Foundation."
It was only four months after the strokes that Alexander Leipold was once again entering competitions, and was victorious at the first attempt. A holistic understanding of the disorder, treatment concepts developed by an interdisciplinary team and, of course, the iron determination of the European and World Champion were the basis for the speed of this therapeutic success.
